What is Urethane Casting?

Urthane Casting is a process of 3D printing or CNC machining a “master pattern” to create a mold of silicone gel, which will then be used to cast identical parts using a urethane. Parts manufactured with this process require tooling, a master pattern, and urethane part material.

It can create both flexible items that are almost rubbery in texture, and very rigid plastics.

Urethane cast parts’ quality is very close to injection molding. But faster and more cost-effective for low-volume parts.

Urethane Casting Materials

Urethane cast parts are often compared to injection molding materials. For example, a tough urethane cast part may be described as an ABS-like, PC-like, or Nylon-like part. A soft and flexible material is described as “TPU-like or Rubber-like” . So our materials will be described like this.
